Man Reunited With Stolen 1957 Chevy

Posted: Updated:

A man and his car are finally one once again after several years apart.
Skip Walker bought a 1957 Chevy Bel Air for $300 back in the year 1975.

But by 1984 it was stolen for a second time.

Skip now 65-years-old, was battling cancer and thought he would never see his beloved Bel Air again.

However a few weeks ago, the California Highway Patrol contacted him about the vehicle. It turns out it was found in a shipping container bound for Australia.

Now Walker and his car are back together.

The car has been through four owners, and the State Department of Motor Vehicles apparently never realized it was stolen.

When Skip got the car back, he hardly recognized it, as the vehicle had been rebuilt from bumper-to-bumper.
