NEW ULM, Minn. -

Last night's fire in New Ulm has since turned fatal.

Crews were called to a four-plex just before 9:30 last night.
According to this press release, 50-year-old Darcy Mary Moldan died as a result of her injuries. She was apparently living in an upstairs apartment.

Authorities say right now, they're still trying to figure out what caused this blaze.
It started last night at a four-plex along Center Street. On Friday, the same building sat quiet and is now the scene of an active investigation.
"Preliminary, we think the fire started upstairs, but that's all part of the investigation yet," said Paul Macho, chief of the New Ulm Fire Department.
Macho says three of four units in the building were occupied at the time.
"Upon arrival, the fire department and police department evacuated residents of the first floor, and rescued one resident from the 2nd floor," he said.
But the fire department says Moldan was found inside the building unconscious.
"She was later taken to New Ulm Medical Center where she later died of her injuries," said Macho.
The fire chief says no other injuries resulted from the incident.
The state fire marshal's office is investigating the incident along with law enforcement.

Authorities say Moldan's body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to determine an official cause of death.
