Trial Date Set for Arlington Woman Charged with Manslaughter

An Arlington woman, whose infant son drowned in a bathtublast November was in Sibley County court this afternoon.

Twenty year old, Christina DeLeon appeared in court today wherethe judge stated the dates of her settlement conference and trial date.

The twenty year old is facing a second degree manslaughtercharge, as well as one for child neglect and for having drugs in the presenceof a child after her 8 month old son drowned in a bathtub.

DeLeon has an older child who according to her  public defender, is in the care of DeLeon'smother.

DeLeon's settlement conference has been scheduled for April24th with her trial date set a month later on May 29th.

Sibley County assistant public defender, William Cowell says, "She's (DeLeon) doing as well as can beexpected. She hasn't been able to post bail, she'sstill awaiting trial and she's working actively with us to get a fairresolution in this case."

DeLeon will be back in court tomorrow morning regarding thecustody of the child now in her mother's hands.
