Posted: Updated:

The Verizon wireless call center in Mankato announced that the company will be adding more than 160 full time positions by July 2014.

In next coming months the company plans to hire 40 employees a month for four months. Adding to its already 526 customer service employees.

According to Verizon, the need for more employees, reflects the increasing interest in wireless products. And with the added employees they will better be able to serve their customers.

Customer service director Marie McVenes said, "I think it's really exciting for the community anytime we talk about an increase of employment. We already have a very low unemployment rate in Mankato, So the opportunity to drive that unemployment rate down and add positions is very exciting."
