One of the world's oldest John Deere dealerships is closing its doors in Nicollet. Zins Implement has been servicing farmers in the Nicollet area for over a century. The Zins family opened its doors back in 1892 specializing in John Deere equipment.
Store manager Kurt Zins says that the site is closing to better service larger farms. "The Ag climate is changing a lot; farmers are getting bigger and bigger. The equipment keeps getting larger. And we have got a smaller facility here. So we are not leaving the business we are not closing down the business, we are just changing locations. "
And while the dealership will no longer be in the town of Nicollet, the family run business will still be in the area. With many of the employees moving to other locations including the Mankato location.
The Nicollet store is set to close this summer.
