5 Year Old Minnesota Boy Breaks High Five Record

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds turned out to help a Minnesota boy with a rare form of cancer break the world record for most high-fives in a minute.

it was all centered on 9-year-old Evan Thornton, who has bone cancer.

The goal was to get 212 high-fives in minute. They got 221.

The record is unofficially broken; the results still need to be sent to Guinness.

The attempt was a gift to Thornton from the people who've stood by his side as cancer weakened his body.

The group collected donations for cancer research on Thursday, which was also National High Five Day.
