Mankato Authorities Release Drinking Citation Stats

Posted: Updated:

Mankato authorities say enforcement numbers for underage drinking are where they are expected to be.

Back in 2010, 833 underage drinking citations were issued.

So far this year, 614 tickets have been doled out by Public Safety.

"There doesn't look to be any sort of real pattern of change with both underage consumption citations that the City of Mankato (has) issued or social host since 2010," says Commander Jeremy Clifton.

Recent numbers were also released this morning regarding Mankato's social host ordinance, which cracks down on people hosting events or gatherings where underage drinking occurs.

So far this year, there have been 47 social host citations.

Last year there were 38, with 55 handed out in 2010.
