Greater Mankato Area United Way is hosting the first Reading Festival on Saturday, November 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Mankato YMCA, Red Gym, located at 1401 S. Riverfront Dr. The Reading Festival is a free, expo-style event for children pre-K to 3rd grade.
Children will celebrate reading by participating in fun and engaging literacy activities. Parents will be provided with the necessary tools and information needed to practice positive literacy at home. Kids will receive a free children's book from Capstone Publishing and “Homework Survival Kit” from CenterPoint Energy.
Visit booths hosted by local organizations such as Southern MN Children's Museum, ECFE, Ready! For Kindergarten, YWCA and many more!
The Reading Festival is sponsored by Capstone Community Fund. Students from Minnesota State University, Mankato's Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services department are helping coordinate this event.
