The day has arrived, the Minnesota Vikings are in Mankato ready to work.
In just a few short weeks, the Vikings will start the regular season but for now they're focused on improving.
Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer says, "It's exciting. It is just as exciting this year as last year, maybe more so."
Though their first official practice isn't until tomorrow the Vikings are getting a workout as they move into Julia Sears Residence Hall.
It is not just fans who are excited as they welcomed in the players from the 2015 roster.
Vikings Linebacker Chad Greenway says, "It is nice to be put in a situation where everybody is excited about our team, excited about director of the organization and looking forward to the season."
Before getting some wins under their belt, they have a team to build, which some veteran experience can help achieve.
Vikings Safety Harrison Smith says, "When the young guys can count on you, then it helps that trust come along a little bit faster."
Even though there are many new faces to the team, there is one face getting the most attention, Adrian Peterson.
Vikings Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater says, "Everyone around the ledge knows what Adrian is capable of doing. I think he will be a huge asset to this team."
Peterson looks to start the season fresh after a year off.
Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson says, "I've got a different mindset, when it comes to just life in general and football too. So, with that, I know it is going to make me a better player."
After learning the ropes last season, Zimmer is ready to help live up to the expectations for this season.
