Greater Mankato Area United Way kicked off its 2016 campaign with a bang.

Pacesetters for the group came together and flexed their muscles to pull a 30,000 pound semi–truck up Hickory Street.

The organization is hoping to raise two million dollars in 2016.

That may seem like a lofty goal, but members are pulling together.

Keynote Speaker Lisa Wojcik says, "From his example to this day, we should always give ourselves and help others when given the opportunity because we may be the one that needs that support tomorrow. That is what community and the United Way is really about, supporting one another as a community."

The group is off to a good start, raising over $200,000 already.
