CADA Holds Moment Of Silence To Kick Off National Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Posted: Updated:

Around a dozen people gathered around the flag pole at CADA in Mankato to take part in a national moment of silence.

Members of the Committee Against Domestic Abuse took part in the Take a Stand event, which kicks off National Domestic Violence Awareness month. The moment of silence is meant to remind the community of victims, survivors, and all those impacted by domestic violence.

Executive Director of CADA Renita Robinson said, "It's an exciting moment for us to think that we can do our little part in this and it doesn't cost us anything, we just have to show up, stand together in solidarity and remember the lives that were lost and the endeavor to do better about making people aware of the issue and behaving differently."

Throughout the month of October, the public is invited to attend domestic violence awareness events put on by CADA.
