The Mankato marathon is just around the corner and if you're not up for all the miles on the road, organizers could use your help on the sidelines.

More than 100 volunteers are still needed for this year's marathon on October 17th and 18th.

People can choose to be anything from a water–stop volunteer to a course marshal or lead biker.

This year, the event expects to bring in around 5,000 runners.

Visit Mankato Anna Thill says, "This is a big event that people are excited about, to participate in that manner gets people coming back year after year. For the first timers, this is a great time to jump in and see what everyone else is excited about."

Volunteers will receive a t–shirt, snacks and a pair of gloves.
