This year's annual art statues in Mankato and North Mankato will be taken down April ninth.

Volunteers will be helping with the take down, except for the beloved Godzilla statue which won the 2015 people's choice award, he will simply be relocated across the street and remain a mascot in the Belgrade business area. New statues will be put up May 14th.

Executive Director of the Twin Rivers Council for the Arts Noelle Lawton said, "We sort of narrow it down to sculptures we think really speaks to our community, and that are fun, that the public will really embrace and enjoy."

27 statues made the cut, this will be the sixth year for the statue tour in downtown Mankato, voting will be available as soon as the statues go up.
