If running is a part of your plan to get moving this summer, start with the right shoes. But other accessories are important as well to make sure you are getting the most from your work out.

Whether you are new to the sport or have been training for a marathon, understanding the importance of hydration is key.

Rachel Lashbrook, Scheels expert, says, “Water is the biggest thing, without it you are not going to perform at your best. It's best to drink before, during, and after a workout.”

That used to mean carrying a water bottle while running, but these days accessories help make it easier to stay hydrated while working out

Rachel says, “I usually suggest a flip belt because it goes right around your waist, you can store house keys, store cell phone, anything you need to store right around your waist.”

There are even products like Body Glide to make your run more enjoyable.

Rachel says, “Put it anywhere your clothes rub, it makes clothing more comfortable.”

If you plan to run early in the morning or at night, there are tools to help keep you safe.

Rachel says, “The strobe light is helpful and clothing now has reflecting material but having that light is great, it lights and flickers.”

So if you are looking for a way to move this summer, products like these might make running more appealing.
