Local boosters celebrate the success of the United Way's 2016 fundraising campaign.

Business and community leaders gathered this afternoon for the Greater Mankato Area United Way Top Executive Leadership Luncheon.

The $2 million–plus campaign helped fund more than 50 programs at 30 plus agencies in the four–county area they serve.

Greater Mankato Area United Way CEO Barb Kaus said, "Covers the three pillars that keep a community strong, and that's basic needs, health and education. And, so it's so important that we hit our goal because these individuals that have need through these agencies are needing the dollars to improve their lives."

Snell Motors also handed over the title to the car they donated for the United Way to use.

The event includes speeches and also helps move forward with the 2017 fundraising campaign.
