The Mankato Marathon is adding a new race this year to give more people a chance to participate in the event.

The My Bold Walk is a point six mile course that allows people with disabilities or chronic disease a chance to take part in the Mankato Marathon.

Organizers say it’s the only race in the nation that provides this opportunity for participants.

“The Bold Walk, My Bold Walk happens to be for those individuals who maybe wanted to participate, but had health issues in the way, and so this event is so exciting because we have partnered with the Department of Human Performance out of Minnesota State University Mankato to provide physical support along the entire course for those walkers,” said Anna Thill, President of Visit Mankato.

Registration for the My Bold Walk is limited to 200 participants, for information on how to sign up you can visit
