After a rocky start to the fall season, Mother Nature is finally allowing Minnesota farmers to continue to make headway in the fields.
According to the latest USDA Crop Report, within the last week, nearly 5 full days were suitable for fieldwork, allowing farmers to harvest 19 percent of the statewide corn acreage.
Corn for grain is still 12 days behind the 5-year average, bringing the total harvest to 79 percent complete.
Minnesota's sunflower harvest is about 93 percent complete, sitting four days ahead of last year's pace.
