Allina Health Implements Visitor Restrictions In Response To Growing Influenza Cases

Posted: Updated:
The growing number of influenza cases has Allina Health putting restrictions on visitors.
The company implemented the guidelines late last week, when influenza cases were first considered widespread, with 172 hospitalizations in Minnesota.
Under Allina's restrictions, visitors who are sick and children under 5 are asked to avoid visiting patients.
They're also asking visitors with a cough or sore throat to wear a mask while inside the building.
Allina Health has facilities in cities across the state, including New Ulm and Owatonna.
Health officials say they'll keep the restrictions in place until influenza cases decrease.
