Rasmussen College announced the opening of its brand new Mankato Campus Thursday.

The new campus is located at 1400 Madison Avenue in the Madison East Center about a mile from its previous location.

The single–story facility includes large, high–tech classrooms, new computer labs and simulation equipment, updated health sciences and nursing labs as well as expanded student learning and faculty spaces.  The new location better serves growing health sciences and nursing student population.

"I think it's a better fit because we got to design it to meet the needs of our students.  So I think when the architects were coming in and really seeing what we need for our residential students it was making sure the labs are set up.  It's very focused around the students so when they come in you can tell the vibe is set up for them.  I think when we came to the planning process it's what do they need," Campus Director Kathy Sanger said.

The new Mankato campus is now open to students with classes beginning this week.
