Rep. Clark Johnson Won't Seek Re-Election In 2018

Representative Clark Johnson has announced that he will not run for re-election in 2018.

The District 19A lawmaker made the announcement this morning.

After completing his term in 2018 Johnson says he is most looking forward to spending time with his family.

"I think what happened this year is I realized I'm at retirement age. I'm going to turn 66 and it's time for me to retire and that's why I made the decision not to run for re-election. It's a personal reason," he says.

Johnson says he will continue to work hard to represent the people within his district over the new year and the 2018 session.

He said in a statement “It’s time for me to move on and give someone else the opportunity to represent us in the Minnesota House."
