The annual Mankato West Orchesis Recital is going on in the coming days and participants would like you to attend.

The event is a dance recital that features hip–hop, lyrical and jazz numbers with entertainment from the event's hosts in between dances.  Members of the Orchesis have been creating and practicing the dances since the summer and have been putting together the show since November.

"The Mankato West team, the Orchesis dance team will be performing their winter showcase.  It will be Thursday at seven, Friday at seven, and Saturday at two p.m and seven p.m.  There are 32 dancers on the team and they perform 20 dances in the show," Orchesis head coach Heather Madison said.

"I really just enjoy hanging out with the girls and being able to teach them.  On top of that, watching all the performances, being in the performances and seeing them come together has just been amazing," Orchesis senior captain Aliyah Dawkins said.

Tickets are available at the door.  They are $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults.  All proceeds go back into the fund for next year's show.
