A Renville County Sheriff's deputy is injured in a police chase Tuesday night.

The sheriff's office says deputies were responding to a report of a suicidal male at a home in Fairfax around 10:17 pm, but the man was gone when they got there.

Deputies chased the suspect's vehicle, which evaded them once before being spotted again in Gibbon.

Authorities say the chase led them back to Fairfax, where the suspect drove into a parking lot and rammed one county patrol car head–on before he was finally stopped at a nearby intersection.

32–year–old Mark R. Wendlandt of Fairfax was looked over by EMS at the scene and then taken to the Renville County Jail.

One of the pursuing Deputies was treated for non–life threatening injuries and released from the Renville County Hospital.
