The Jefferson German Watershed Project is awarded a grant to improve water quality in the chain of lakes.
The over $387,000 grant comes from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources.
The Jefferson German Watershed plans to use the funds to help reduce nutrient loading in the lakes through wetland restorations, water and sediment control basins and grade stabilization projects.
Since the amendment was passed in 2008, over $143 million dollars has been invested in "on the ground projects" across the state.
