South Central College is awarded $50,000 for its work in STEM learning and helping students prepare for jobs in the workforce.
The college has been named a winner of the inaugural Siemens-Aspen Community College STEM Award.
It's one of 8 community colleges to receive the award highlighting the STEM programs offered, like SCC's Computer Integrating Machining program.
The college says half of the funds will be allocated for further program development, with the other half going toward scholarships for students.
