MnDOT Is Looking For a Way To Keep Truck Drivers Safe

The department will be installing technology at seven rest areas in Minnesota that will help drivers find safe parking along high-volume freight corridors.
The program is designed as a messaging system that will send real-time parking availability to truck drivers through signs on the side of the road. The dynamic message boards will be posted on I-35 and I-94. The information can also be found on MnDOT's 511 website. The project is expected to start in January of next year.
