American Legion's National Commander Visits Waseca Post
The American Legion in Waseca had a special visitor for breakfast this morning.
The legion's national commander Denise Rohan stopped at the Waseca post as the third stop on her Minnesota tour.
Rohan hails from Wisconsin and is the first woman ever elected to her position. She served in the Army during Vietnam and is spreading her message of "Family First" on the tour.
The commander says her stops in Minnesota have been a great way to see how the legion helps local communities.
"It's always the people. You know how much they care, the fact that they're here this morning and they all get along so well, that's just perfect," said Rohan. "Breakfast was great, the sunrise this morning was absolutely beautiful. You can tell how much people care about one another, and that's what the American Legion family is all about."
After breakfast, Commander Rohan was presented with several gifts from local members as well as a check toward the legion's temporary financial assistance program for veterans' families.
