The Minnesota Department of Human Services has issued a negative action order against a Mankato child care center for licensing violations.
DHS has fined Our Little World Daycare $1400 for failing to comply with background study requirements and failing to comply with requirements to reduce the risk of sudden unexpected infant death.
A DHS investigation in November found that the license holder did not initiate background studies on five staff members before allowing direct contact with children served by the program.
The same investigation found instances of children not being moved to cribs after falling asleep in swings and bouncy seats, as well as an infant sleeping on its stomach in a pillow with its head turned to the side in a way that may block the airway.
Our Little World Daycare has until February 19th to request a contested case hearing.
