Munson Wins Special Election in 23B
Republicans easily hold the House seat vacated by Tony Cornish last year.
With all 57 precincts reporting, unofficial results from the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office show Republican Jeremy Munson with 3,943 votes, or just over 59 percent of the vote.
DFL candidate Melissa Wagner garnered 2658 votes, just under 40 percent.
57 ballots were write-ins.
Munson is the First Congressional District Republican Party chairman, and formerly served as chairman of the Blue Earth County Republicans.
Wagner has been a school Social Worker and Special Education Coordinator with the Minnesota Valley Education District for more than 20 years.
House District 23B includes parts of Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Waseca, and Watonwan counties.
