GOP's Munson Wins 23B Special Election
Republicans easily hold the House seat vacated by Tony Cornish last year.
With all 57 precincts reporting, data from the Minnesota Secretary of State's office show Republican Jeremy Munson with just over 59 percent of the vote.
DFL candidate Melissa Wagner garnered just under 40 percent. Munson received 3,943 total votes. Wagner garnered 2,658 votes.
57 ballots were write-ins.
Munson is the First Congressional District Republican Party chairman, and formerly served as chairman of the Blue Earth County Republicans.
Wagner has been a school Social Worker and Special Education Coordinator with the Minnesota Valley Education District for more than 20 years.
House District 23B includes parts of Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Waseca, and Watonwan counties.
