The winner of the Minnesota House District 23B special election Jeremy Munson now has to switch gears from campaigning to legislating.

The Republican says one of his first priorities in the legislature is to address the changes with new federal tax law and secure local jobs in agriculture as well as the district's other needs.

Munson also hopes to create price transparency within the health care system in Minnesota.

"Ideally what I'd like to do is do this outside of the legislature and mandates," said Munson. "I would love to educate consumers on their ability to ask for what prices are and how people can compare them in and out of markets so that they understand where the best care is at the best price."

Munson will be sworn in later this week and serve at least until November's regular election.

District 23B serves parts of Blue Earth, Watonwan, Waseca and LeSueur counties.
