The Mountain Lake School Board approved an outline for a major remodeling project last week, now they move on to the next step.

Next Monday's meeting will be the time to decide on approval for the project that should cost no more than $13 million according to the school board.

A series of surveys was conducted and school officials say those played a key role in determining how to go about the remodeling.

One popular condition included in school board's outline is the removal of the 1904 building in Mountain Lake.

Building infrastructure is the highest priority according to the school board's surveys.

Details about the scope of the work still have to be ironed out, but a vote to pass a resolution regarding the work will be voted on next Monday.

The board says an approval must be in place 74 days before a vote on August 14.
