Law enforcement across the country are being recognized during National Police Week.

Thursday afternoon, local departments visited Sherburn Elementary to give kids a look at the resources they use on a daily basis.

Every agency in Martin County including the state patrol and DNR, showcased a variety of vehicles used on the job.

Kindergartners through second graders got an opportunity to be a police officer for the day, even earning a badge at the end.

The event not only showcases law enforcement, but gives students valuable advice on how they can stay safe wherever they go.

The elementary school and the Sherburn police department have hosted this event for the last eight years.
