Nick Kruszalnicki - Reporter
Nick Kruszalnicki grew up in a farming town west of Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated with a Broadcast Journalism degree from Arizona State University in 2000. After graduating, he worked at KNXV-TV, Phoenix’s ABC affiliate, from 2000 to 2005 as a graphics operator and technical director. From there, Nick joined KSAZ-TV from 2006 to 2016, where he directed the FOX station’s popular morning news show. Nick then decided to follow his dreams to be in front of the camera, which is what brings him here to KEYC. He has been with us since February 2018.
When Nick isn’t pounding the pavement for stories, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, watching old TV shows and movies, and expanding his collection of vintage toys.

What's your favorite part of your job?
The randomness. I could be covering a spelling bee or driving on a frozen lake. It is also really amusing to hear about how everyone in Minnesota has a relative who lives in Arizona.
What's your dream story?
I would love to be the first person to do a report in outer space.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A bunch of things. I wanted to be a fighter pilot, or a farmer, or a game show host.
What got you interested in (news, sports, weather)?
I watched way too much TV as a kid and I especially loved game shows and the local news. I used to make radio shows with a Fisher Price cassette tape recorder, then I graduated to using the family camcorder to make my own TV shows.
What's your favorite candy?
What's your favorite sport to watch?
What's your favorite band?
What's your favorite food?
Mexican Food! I was spoiled… Arizona has the best Mexican food outside of Mexico.
What are your hobbies?
I collect lots of stuff, especially vintage toys and action figures.
What's your favorite season?
Summer, but not Summer in Arizona.
If you could have any super power, which would you pick?
Flight. I would literally fly everywhere. I just hope my legs don’t atrophy.
If you had access to a time machine, where and when would you go?
I would go back to the 1970s. For some reason, I am obsessed with everything from that decade. I would even wear a leisure suit proudly.
