The Blue Earth Project and Bent River Outfitter teamed up today to preserve our local waters.

Bent River Outfitter donated all of their kayaks and canoes for the day to those that came out to help clean the rivers.

The group took a nine mile ride down the Blue Earth River, picking up trash whenever they saw it.

The Blue Earth Project adopted the stretch of the river, vowing to keep it as clean as possible.

“It says that we want to help," said participant Colton Roballo. "You know I’ve been looking for ways to get involved and I mean there is things you can do locally but it is really nice for Bent River to actually come out and organize an event like this."

The group did manage to float down the river faster than anticipated as the rising waters make for a stronger current.
