The boys and girls state golf tournament wrapped-up on Wednesday and quite a few of our area athletes took home some hardware.
On the girls side, the Springfield Tigers finished 5th as a team with 764-points in the Class A competition.
In AA St. Clair/Loyola's Claire Orcutt was 10th.
Leading the way for our local teams was the Sleepy Eye United boys.
The squad tied for first place in Class A with 641-points as a team.
Sleepy Eye's Ben Laffen finished in first place.
The senior won the Class A title by one stroke, shooting 144.
Springfield's Mason Kretsch was also in the top 10, tying for 10th with 157.
In AAA, Mankato East's Walker Reyes tied for 2nd place.
In AA, New Ulm's Glavine Schugel finished tied for 6th and St. Peter's Carter Doose tied for 10th.
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers took 5th place as a team.
