ST. JAMES, MINN - New construction on Highway 60 near St. James begins on Monday.

The near 14–mile stretch of construction reaches from Highway 60 in St. James to Highway 15.

Resurfacing is planned for the existing road as well as on both east and westbound ramps.

A snow fence at the Watonwan River Bridge is also a part of MnDOT's plans to limit the safety hazard of snow drifts.

No detours are expected for this project but MnDOT says periodic bridge closures will take place near St. James for more resurfacing.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with head–to–head configuration on the westbound lanes.

The construction is just one piece of a two–year project expected to go through Fall 2019.
