Faribault Man Could Face Murder Charges After Alleged Heroin Death
A 27-year-old Faribault man could face murder charges after he allegedly sold heroin laced with fentanyl to a victim who overdosed and died.
The Faribault Police Department identified Anthoney Michael Fugalli as the dealer who provided the drug to a 38-year-old man who died.
Officers responded to a call of an unresponsive man on June 19 at about midday. Assisted by rescue crews, they tried to revive the man.
The Cannon River Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force located Fugalli by searching possible connections to local heroin distributors. He was arrested on charges of 1st degree drug sales at 10 p.m.
Fugalli allegedly confessed to selling heroin and told investigators he’d warned the victim that the drug might contain fentanyl.
The Cannon River Drug and Violent Offenders Task Force and Rice County Attorney’s office are working to build a possible homicide case with multiple felony drug charges against Fugalli.
