A Faribault man is arrested after allegedly leading police on a pursuit Tuesday night.

Authorities tried approaching a suspicious vehicle parked in North Alexander Park after it was closed around 11 p.m.

Police say the driver then sped around the squad cars and allegedly made circles around a residential area in Northwest Faribault.

The vehicle was found after colliding with a tree near 6th Street.

The driver, 21-year-old Mursal Ahmed was arrested.

An adult female passenger told police that she begged the driver to stop and let her out of the vehicle.

Both Ahmed and the passenger were treated at the scene for non-serious injuries.

He is expected to face charges of felony fleeing police in a motor vehicle. The case remains under investigation.
