ST. JAMES, MINN - Defense attorneys for a St. James man being accused of double homicide are seeking a neurological exam.
Scott Engelbrecht's defense team is requesting the evaluation to determine if he's mentally competent to face trial.

Engelbrecht is now saying he has no recollection of the June 18th events that left his wife, 67–year–old Joyce Engelbrecht, and her daughter, 43–year–old Rachel Linder, dead from gunshot wounds.

The judge presiding over Tuesday's hearing will rule on the request after a written affidavit is submitted and processed.

Both the defense and prosecution will have to opportunity to propose psychiatric evaluators to perform the requested exam.
