A recent bear sighting in New Ulm has police urging residents to avoid all contact with the animal.
 
 That includes trying to take photos or a selfie with a bear.
A sighting in New Ulm was reported just after noon Sunday using the Department of Natural Resources online bear tracking tool
As of this morning, police say a bear was last spotted at South Payne Street and Hauenstein Drive.
Police are encouraging the public to contact them right away if they spot a bear.
The department says, as of now they plan to leave the bear alone unless it is posing a danger to the public.
