MANKATO, MINN - The Southern Minnesota chapter of Habitat for Humanity has a new Executive Director.
Dr. Bruce Bjork has filled the role for Southern Minnesota's Habitat for Humanity.

Dr. Bjork grew up in LeSueur and has spent 22 years in the Twin Cities area as a private contractor, working with ministries in St. Paul to develop affordable housing.

The new Executive Director has also served in the military and is an ordained United Methodist pastor.

He hopes to expand the reach of Habitat throughout multiple communities in the region.
"We do have people that care about other people in this community and it's an opportunity for us to kind of reclaim what it means to be in community with one another," said Bjork. "I think we can all agree we're not doing that very well or at least as well as we have in the past."
