A portion of Northbound Highway 169 in Mankato that was reduced to a single lane has now been moved to just a shoulder closure.

The initial lane closure near Belgrade Avenue and the Veterans Memorial Bridge was put in place yesterday afternoon due to a sinkhole that formed near a catch basin.

MnDOT says the shoulder closure will remain in place until river water levels recede and crews can establish a permanent fix.

MnDOT urges motorists to drive with caution in the area and watch for workers and traffic control devices
