(COURTLAND, MN) --Minnesota Highway 68 near Courtland remains closed after a mudslide.
The closure coming following the mudslide Sunday afternoon, approximately five miles southeast of New Ulm.

MnDOT crews are working to clear significant mud, fallen trees and debris on the roadway.

MnDOT says the recent rainfall and high river water levels in the area can cause mudslides without warning and they are closely monitoring area roads.

Once the clean-up is complete, MnDOT will assess the remainder of the hillside to prevent further issues and make sure the road is safe for travelers.
