In Mankato, the Red, Hot, & Boom 4th of July celebration will be held at Riverfront Park and can be viewed from both sides of the river. This event is no cost and open to the public. At dusk, spectators can watch the fireworks from the bridge, which overlooks the river. The bridge will be closed from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m to traffic. The "Rockin' 4th of July Concert" begins at 7 p.m. and features live music by City Mouse and the Mankato Symphony Orchestra

In St. Peter the 4th started early with the Freedom Fun Run at 7:30 a.m. The parade will start at 10 a.m. along Washington Avenue and Elm Street. At noon, Picnic in the Park will begin with entertainment, food and games Fireworks are at 10 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

In Vernon Center a Tractor, Car, Truck, and Motorcycle show begins at noon, bingo at 1 p.m., kids pedal pull and activities at 2 p.m., and a parade at 5 p.m.
