Apartments Evacuated in Springfield Due to Flooding
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that residents of the River Bluff Apartments in Springfield are evacuated due to fears of rising flood waters.
The National Weather Service warned of the rapid rise in the water level of the Cottonwood River west of the County Road 2 bridge in Springfield.
Residents that were being displaced from their apartments were either placed in housing by the American Red Cross or with relatives.
There were no injuries and the estimated amount of damage is unknown at the time.
Also assisting the Brown County Sheriff’s Officers on scene were the Springfield Police Department and the Springfield Fire Department
The National Weather Service is estimating the Cottonwood River to crest mid day Thursday in Springfield.
