The Minnesota DNR played host to a photography lesson at Minneopa Falls this afternoon.

Photography is a great way to take some memories home with you after a visit to a state park.

Everyone had the chance to learn about how to use a digital camera, different photography techniques and shoot their own photos.

“I think it’s really to touch base with nature," explained Minneopa Area Naturalist Scott Kudelka.  "You can go out and smell a flower, you can go out and see a waterfall and you have that in your mind but to be able to take that image with you once you’re done and that kind of gives you a memory and maybe you want to come back because of what you have seen and done the time before.”

At the end of the lesson, participants were able to print one photo to take home with them.
