MANKATO, MINN - The Salvation Army is gearing up to help kids headed back to school.

Registration for the Salvation Army's "Back to School" Program runs July 30 - Aug. 10

The program assists families in need of school supplies for children going into kindergarten through 12th grade.

Parents and guardians need a photo ID and proof of government assistance to apply.

Students must be living in the household of the parent or guardian and attend a Blue Earth County or North Mankato school.

Supplies and monetary donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army at  700 South Riverfront Drive in Mankato before Aug. 13.

Recipients must be pre–registered before distribution day on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
