North Mankato Council Considers Solar Garden, AirBnB Regulation and Commerce Drive Upgrades
NORTH MANKATO, MINN - North Mankato City Council heard reports on multiple ongoing projects at Monday's meeting.
During work session, the council discussed a potential subscription to a solar garden.
Two locations being evaluated for a possible solar array are North Mankato City Hall and the recycling center.
Short–term rentals were also on the discussion table at the council meeting.
City staff will return to council with more information regarding possible regulations, which may involve conditional–use permits for AirBnB rentals.
Commerce Drive is also being considered to receive aesthetic upgrades.
Improvements being suggested seek to create wider sidewalks, improved shrubbery and lighting, along with other cosmetic changes to create more of a destination feel for the area.
