(MANKATO) -- Minnesota State University Mankato's nursing simulation center has been granted provisional accreditation.
MSU's Director of Nursing Simulation Colleen Royle says MSU joins just over 100 nursing simulation centers worldwide that have achieved accreditation and the third in Minnesota.

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare provisional accreditation means MSU's nursing simulation center is accredited for two years. After that, the University will apply for full accreditation status.

MSU's 16,000-square-foot Maverick Family Simulation Center is located in the University's Clinical Sciences Building, which opened in January 2017.

The simulation center provides access to 13 mannequins, ranging from newborns to adults, for both students and professionals.
