NORTH MANKATO, MN - Renovation of Spring Lake Park's public pool kicks off today.

The $3.2 million project will install a PVC liner and create a sloped entry that will allow easier access for patrons.  Kids will enjoy the new slides, zip line, and a 45-foot-long rock climbing wall along with other fun play features.

John Harrenstein, North Mankato city administrator, said: "We're happy to provide these features to families.  Both as our commitment to outstanding recreational assets.  We also believe it has an element of talent attraction and retention with locating families to our area and region."

The pool has not seen any major improvements since the late 60s.  Renovations are expected to be finished up by the summer of 2019.
